99 Days to Pentecost: Day 56

Day 56 - April 10, 2021

Hebrews 3:12-13 (Read Full Chapter)
12 Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

“Receive God’s Best Today”
Written by Pastor Seong Hwang

On my very first Encounter Retreat, back in 2009, Holy Spirit truly softened my heart to heal a broken relationship. I kept the sin of unforgiveness to myself for a long time, which kept me from seeking God's help. I did not want to lay it before God, because of the hurt I received. But through the powerful testimonies of my brothers in Christ and their encouragement, God came, healed, and released me from this bondage of sin. The Holy Spirit empowered me to forgive. I still remember coming down from the retreat center, rejoicing because God set me free and softened my hardened heart.

It is said, "A lack of trust in God always prevents us from receiving God's best." What a timely reminder to keep our thoughts and hearts fixed on Jesus today, who is faithful and willing to forgive and heal. Church, let us share our testimonies and encourage our fellow brothers and sisters today so that others may turn their hearts to God, instead of it being hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Also, Southlanders, if you have yet to attend Encounter Retreat, I highly encourage you to sign up this year. You will be tremendously blessed for sure.

Prayer: Lord, I don't want to miss out on receiving Your best. Please help us to fix our eyes on you today. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
