16 Now while Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was being provoked within him as he observed that the city was full of idols. 17 So he was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be present.
“Single-Minded Life”

Athens was a famous and historic city full of magnificent buildings. It was a center for Greek culture, philosophy, and education. Yet when Paul arrived and looked around, he was greatly distressed and deeply disturbed because he saw a city and people given over to idols. He was single-minded and focused on winning souls for Christ. He faithfully prepared the gospel message wherever he went. Even harsh persecution or mockery did not stop him from his mission. From city to city, many came to believe in Jesus because Paul reasoned, explained, and proved that Jesus is the Christ.
Let us live like Paul, single-minded and focused on making Jesus known to everyone we meet.
