Day 63 - April 17, 2021

Hebrews 10:22-24 (Read Full Chapter)
22 let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; 24 and let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds,

“Yes! Let’s...”
Written by Pastor Samuel Pyo

I had a chance to take a theater class in college, and for one of the exercises we did in order to help us better improve our improvisation skills, we played a game that we called, “Yes! And…” This game encouraged us to just keep going, building on top of one action on top of the other in order to build up our improvisational skills. Here, in this passage, we see a “Yes! And…” moment, where we see the author of Hebrews write that as a result of the sacrifice of Christ, we have a chance to respond with, “Yes! Let’s…” What are the 3 things that the author of Hebrews writes that we are to do as response to the sacrifice of Christ? 1) “Let’s approach God with a sincere heart,” 2) “Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope,” and 3) “let’s consider how to encourage one another.” In particular, let us do the third option today, and let’s encourage our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in better love for one another and Christ, as well as to live out and do good deeds today.

Prayer: Lord, let us respond rightly to the sacrifice of Jesus by being those who approach you to worship you with a sincere heart Lord. May we be those who hold firmly to the confession of our hope, and when we waver and stumble, may we cling even tighter onto You. Lord, may we love our community and encourage our fellow brothers and sisters today. Amen.
