Acts 13:2-4 (Read Full Chapter)
2 While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set Barnabas and Saul apart for Me for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, when they had fasted, prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
“Partnership in Christ”

The sender and the sent all belong to one body, under Christ. All have a part in serving the Lord and listening to the Holy Spirit for direction. The early church gives us a model of the members of a faith community actively seeking God’s will for sending out missionaries and workers. They fast and wait on the Lord. They pray and lay hands on those who are called out to do God’s work. There is a beautiful partnership amongst the members of a local church to be part of God’s kingdom work.
