99 Days to Pentecost: Day 61

Day 61 - April 15, 2021
Hebrews 8:1-2 (Read Full Chapter)
1 Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord set up, not man.

“And He Tabernacled Among Us”
Written by Pastor Samuel Pyo

These verses remind me of John 1:14 saying, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” This word “dwelt” in the Greek means that God has “tabernacled” or “pitched His tent” with us. The Message translation paraphrases it as God “moved into the neighborhood.” This passage reminds us that the Lord wants to be close to us, and He desires to be in an active relationship with us. In the Old Testament, the Israelites built a physical tabernacle that represented God’s presence moving with them. In the New Testament, God builds a spiritual tabernacle in our hearts, where He dwells in us. Let us draw nearer to God, as He has drawn near to us.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You that Your presence knows no bounds. Your Son came down and dwelt among us, and because He is our great high priest in the new covenant, we can now have an intimate relationship with You. Lord, may we enter into that relationship now. Amen.
