99 Days to Pentecost: Day 62

Day 62 - April 16, 2021

Hebrews 9:11-12 (Read Full Chapter)
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things having come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by hands, that is, not of this creation; 12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all time, having obtained eternal redemption.

“Greater and More Perfect”
Written by Pastor Samuel Pyo

As someone who has grown up in the church the phrase, “Jesus loves you,” was repeated so often that it had lost its power. The author makes it a point to remind us of the sacrifice of Jesus, and what it means for the believer. In the previous chapters, we see that the author details the importance of the ministry of Christ and how His role as the high priest is what allows for us to be in relationship with God. We see that Jesus is the “greater and more perfect” tabernacle and also sacrifice for us. As we heard during our Good Friday program, our Lord, Jesus Christ, declared that it was finished. The New Covenant that we are now living in tells us that Jesus’ love for us, and His sacrifice for us, too was and is perfect. This means that we need not to add to the sacrifice in which Jesus has paid for us. For truly, He has paid it all.

Prayer: Jesus, let us remember that your sacrifice was perfect and complete. We need not add to it with our guilt or shame, for Jesus, You have set us free from that. Let us Lord, live in true freedom that is found in You Lord. Amen.
