99 Days to Pentecost: Day 98

Day 98 - May 22, 2021

Acts 27:22-25 (Read Full Chapter)
22 Yet now I urge you to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. 23 For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, 24 saying,...behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.' 25 Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.

“Do You Trust in God’s Word Over Your Own Wisdom or Logic?”
Written by Pastor Richard Kim

The centurion ignores Paul’s prophetic warning and listens to the pilot of the ship. The result is a storm comes upon the ship, endangering lives (v. 9 - 10, 14, 18, 20).

Do you trust in God’s word over your own wisdom or logic?

As the people on the ship lost hope that they could be saved, Paul gives another prophetic encouragement that they will be saved (v. 22 - 25).

But once again, some sailors do not trust in Paul’s word and try to save themselves (v. 30). Paul warns them that if they do not stay in the ship, they will be lost. But this time, the centurion listens to Paul and saves the lives of everyone on the boat.

Do you trust in God’s word over your own wisdom or logic?

Take time to reread Acts 27 and prayerfully reflect on God’s Word to you through this chapter.
