99 Days to Pentecost: Day 80

Day 80 - May 4, 2021

Acts 9:17 (Read Full Passage)
So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

“Obedience is the Key”
Written by Pastor Joe Suh

Most of us are familiar with the powerful conversion story of Saul the persecutor to Paul the apostle, often referred to as the “Damascus Road Experience”. Often overlooked in this story is a man named Ananias. Upon receiving a vision, Ananias went to minister to Saul, which led to his conversion. Understandably, Anaias must have been fearful and nervous about approaching Saul. Yet, he faithfully obeyed the vision, and Paul’s ministry was confirmed and initiated.

Not everyone was as impactful as Paul in spreading the Gospel to the Gentiles. God used Paul to be a powerful witness and founder of the early church. However, everyone can be obedient like Ananias. Ananias knew Saul’s reputation, yet still obeyed what God called him to do. As a result, Paul went on to be one of the most effective missionaries, leaders, disciplers, and author of 13 books of the New Testament. We see from Ananias how God can powerfully use courageous obedience.

Take time to reread Acts 9 and prayerfully reflect on God’s Word to you through this chapter.
